  1. 2024 Milestone & Accolades

     

    PHEIM SICAV-SIF-ASEAN Emerging Companies Fund (ASEAN Fund) won the Best of the Best Awards 2024 for 28 Years Period by Asia Asset Management.

    Pheim SICAV-SIF – ASEAN Emerging Companies Fund was ranked No. 1 by LSEG (formerly known as Refinitiv / Thomson Reuters) in the category of ASEAN Equity for 25-year period ended September 2023. The Director of Asia Pacific Research, LSEG Lipper confirmed that the Fund took the top position during the period of 1 October 1998 to 30 September 2023 among all Equity ASEAN of Lipper Global Classification, globally in terms of total returns in US Dollars. The return for the 25-year period ended September 2023 was +1,130.90% in US Dollar vs Relevant Market Index +403.20% and its top rival’s record of +811.20%.

  2. 2023 Milestone & Accolades

    Dr. Tan Chong-Koay was conferred the “ASEAN Outstanding Entrepreneur Lifetime Achievement Award” at the 2023 ASEAN Leadership and Partnership Forum which was officiated by the Governor of West Java, Republic of Indonesia, H.E. Dr. (H.C.) H. Mochamad Ridwan Kamil, S.T., M.U.D. at Le Meridien Jakarta, Indonesia in May 2023.

  3. 2022 Milestone & Accolades

    Pheim Asset Management (Asia) Pte Ltd launched Pheim Emerging Asia ex-Japan Balanced Fund, a Sub-Fund of Pheim VCC, a company incorporated as an umbrella Variable Capital Company with segregated sub-funds under the laws of Singapore, on 10 February 2022. The Sub-Fund has been entered into the list of Restricted Schemes by the Monetary Authority of Singapore (“MAS”) and offering of the Sub-Fund in Singapore to the accredited investors and institutional investors only.

    Dr. Tan Chong-Koay was conferred the 2022 ASEAN Distinguished Entrepreneur Lifetime Achievement Award at the 2022 ASEAN Leadership and Partnership Forum which was officiated by the Prime Minister of Cambodia, H.E. Samdech Decho Hunsen at Hyatt Regency Hotel, Phnom Penh, Cambodia in September 2022.

  4. 2021 Milestone & Accolades

    Dr Tan was conferred the National Outstanding Entrepreneurs Lifetime Achievement Award which was presented by Yang Di-Pertua Negeri Melaka, T.Y.T Tun Seri Setia (Dr.) Haji Mohd Ali bin Mohd Rustam on the Lifetime Achievement Awards Ceremony held at Hotel Istana Kuala Lumpur City on 30 March 2021.

  5. 2017 Milestone & Accolades

    Pheim Asset Management (Asia) Pte Ltd launched a new Cayman Islands fund, Pheim ASEAN All-Cap Equity Fund on 17 May 2017. The Fund has been entered into the list of Restricted Schemes by the Monetary Authority of Singapore which may be offered in Singapore to the accredited investors and institutional investors only.

    Dr Tan was named “The Warren Buffett of Asia” by World Wealth Creation Conference 2017 in The Straits Times, Singapore (20 April 2017) for being one of the best performing fund managers and for truly enhancing value-investing.

  6. 2016 Milestone & Accolades

    Dr Tan was awarded “Asia Pacific Entrepreneurship Awards 2016” under the Financial Services industry category by Enterprise Asia.

  7. 2015 Milestone & Accolades

    On 29 October 2015, Dr Tan Chong Koay received approval from the Monetary Authority of Singapore for his appointment as Chief Executive Officer and Executive Director of Pheim Asset Management (Asia) Pte Ltd.

    Dr Tan Chong Koay was named “Market Wizard of Malaysia” by Beijing-based The China Daily on March 14-15, 2015 Edition under the Entrepreneur Special Section coincided with the Closing Meeting of the Top Political Advisory Body’s Annual Session.

    In March, Beijing-based The China Daily named Dr. Tan Chong Koay as one of the 80 Global Eminent Business Leaders.

  9. 2012 Milestone & Accolades

    On 14 January 2012, Dr Tan was awarded 《亚太地区最受尊敬华人企业家》in China – “Most Respected Chinese Entrepreneurship Award in Asia Pacific” by China Economic Trading Promotion Agency, People’s Republic of China. (In the citation for this award, it was stated: “Dr Tan’s ability to weather through many crises such as the Financial Crisis in 1998/1999, Tech Bubble in 2000 and the Global Financial Crisis in 2008/2009 over the span of his career demonstrated charisma and wisdom of an outstanding entrepreneur”)

  10. 2011 Milestone & Accolades

    Pheim ASEAN Emerging Companies Growth Fund Ltd was awarded “Best of the Best Performance Awards 2011” for 3 years and 5 years under the ASEAN Equity Category by Asia Asset Management from Hong Kong. (2nd consecutive win)

  11. 2010 Milestone & Accolades

    Morningstar ranked Pheim ASEAN Emerging Companies Growth Fund, No 1. in terms of total returns in US dollars, for ALL 1- to 15-year periods as at end of December, 2010 for the Morningstar Category ASEAN Equity Funds.

    Pheim ASEAN Emerging Companies Growth Fund registered a return of 47.05% vs FTSE ASEAN Index 30.53% for the year 2010.

    Pheim ASEAN Emerging Companies Growth Fund Ltd was awarded “Best of the Best Performance Awards 2010” for 3 years and 5 years under the ASEAN Equity Category by Asia Asset Management from Hong Kong.

    As at December 2010, assets under management hit US$1.8 billion.

    Dec 19, 2010, Dr Tan Chong Koay was awarded “China Top 10 Financial Intelligent Persons award”, “2010 – 中华十大财智人物” 特别奖” Oct 29, 2010, Dr Tan Chong Koay was awarded APEA (Asia Pacific Entrepreneurship Awards) 2010, Outstanding Entrepreneurship Award.

    Pheim Vittoria Fund was rated 5 Stars against 863 funds in the Morningstar Asia Pacific Ex-Japan Category over the prior 3-year period up to 30 June 2010.

  13. 2006 Milestone & Accolades

    Pheim Singapore was appointed to manage a Vietnam Fund by Aizawa Securities Co. Ltd, Japan. The fund was launched on October 1, 2006. As of end of 2006, the fund size was US$ 80 million.

    Dr Tan was named “Southeast Asia’s Small-Cap King” by Bloomberg in August 2006.

  14. 2004 Milestone & Accolades

    Pheim Singapore was appointed to manage an Asia Ex-Japan small cap fund by Aizawa Securities Co. Ltd, Japan.

    Pheim ASEAN Emerging Companies Growth Fund, managed by Pheim Singapore with an ASEAN mandate, was ranked No. 1 among regional and international firms in the offshore Equity ASEAN category by Standard & Poor’s in terms of returns for 5 consecutive 3-year and 5-year periods ending December of 2000, 2001, 2002, 2003 and 2004. The Fund return for the 5-year period ending December of 2004 was 67.85% versus 8.35% for the FTSE All World Series ASEAN USD Index.

    Pheim Vittoria Fund, managed by Pheim Singapore under a Far East Ex-Japan mandate, ranked well among regional and international firms in the offshore Equity Asia Pacific ex-Japan category in competition with about 190 other regional and institutional players. It was ranked 18th and 11th by Standard and Poor’s for the 3- year and 5-year periods ending 2004 respectively. The Fund return for the 5-year ending December 2004 was 47.55% versus 18.62% in MSCI AC Asia Pacific Ex-Japan USD Index.

    In July 2004, Aizawa Securities Co. Ltd, Japan acquired a 5% stake each in Pheim Singapore and Pheim Malaysia.

  15. 2003 Milestone & Accolades

    As verified by Watson Wyatt Investment Consulting in conformity with the Level 1 verification of compliance in accordance with the AIMR Performance Presentation Standards (AIMR-PPS®), Pheim Singapore out-performed the respective benchmark every year for every Composite for 9 consecutive years (1995-2003) since inception.

    Pheim Singapore was appointed to manage an Asia Ex-Japan Equity Fund by New Private Bank in Zurich, Switzerland.

  16. 2002 Milestone & Accolades

    Pheim Singapore was the first boutique fund manager in Singapore to be granted full Investment Adviser’s License, currently known as Capital Markets Services (Fund Management) License.

    Sumitomo Life Insurance Co., Japan sold off their stake in Pheim Singapore in April.

  17. 1999 Milestone & Accolades

    Pheim Singapore became one of the first two boutique fund managers in Singapore to be granted the Investment Adviser Boutique Fund Manager License by the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS).

    At year end, Sumitomo Life Insurance Company agreed to acquire a 10% stake in Pheim Singapore.

  18. 1995 Milestone & Accolades

    Dr Tan Chong Koay founded Pheim Singapore and assumed the role of Chief Executive Officer/Chief Strategist.
